Meet Our Staff:
Chuck Crooks, CPA, Audit & Tax Partner
Chuck Crooks is our Audit Partner and has been with CBEW for over 25 years. He lives in Cushing with his wife Kelly and their two sons. He obtained his B.B.A. Degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University where he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. He became a licensed CPA in 1999. Chuck specializes in tax consulting, and audits of municipalities, schools, and other business types. He handles all types of business entity tax returns including trusts, and he leads our audit teams on various audits throughout the state of Oklahoma. Chuck is efficient and will take projects from start to finish in no time. When not at the office, Chuck can be found cheering for his sons Keaton and Camden while they are playing various sports in college and high school, on a basketball court as a referee, or on his lawn at home.
Trisha (Haines) Rieman, CPA, Tax & Managing Partner
Trisha Rieman is the Managing Partner of the firm and has been with CBEW for over 20 years. She was raised in Fargo, Oklahoma and she and her family now live in Pawnee. She obtained her B.B.A. Degree in Accounting from Wichita State University in 1999, and her CPA license in 2001. Trisha specializes in small business tax and consulting, payroll issues, and is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor. She especially enjoys working with clients who have farm and ranching operations since she has an agricultural background herself. She also loves consulting with clients at their business sites to help them streamline their accounting processes and to train their accounting staff. She has the ability to explain accounting and tax law on an understandable and relatable level. She works out of our Cushing and Pawnee office locations. When not at work, Trisha can be found running her two sons to sporting events, fishing with her family, shopping, participating in community events, and raising commercial cattle with her husband.
Gabrielle Conchola, CPA, Audit & Tax Partner
Gabrielle (Gabby) is a Partner and has been with CBEW for over 10 years. She graduated from West Texas A & M University in May 2010 with a Master of Professional Accounting/Bachelor of Business Administration degree (a combined BBA & MPA program which she completed in 4 years, while bowling collegiately!). Gabby obtained her CPA license in 2012 and was named an OSCPA Trailblazer in 2015, which is an award that honors the innovation, professional dedication, and community commitment of CPA's under 40. Gabby works out of our Stillwater office and performs audits, engagement peer reviews, and assists with quality control within the firm. She has served on various committees through the OSCPA, including Young Accounting Professionals, Accounting Careers, and Peer Review Committee. When not working, Gabby can be found at a local coffee shop, traveling, or at World Harvest Church, where she and her husband serve as Youth Directors.
Walter Webb, CPA, Audit & Tax Partner (semi-retired)
Walter Webb retired on May 1, 2020 and is now a consultant with the firm having been a partner for 50 years. Walter was born and raised in Cushing and his first full time job after college was with Bland and Call, the founders of CBEW Professional Group, LLP. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1970 with a BS in Accounting. Walter was heavily involved with the AICPA and OSCPA during his long career having been President of the Oklahoma Society of CPA’s and Chairman of the AICPA’s Peer Review Board among others. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Accounting Hall of Fame in 1986. Walter maintains residences in both Texas and Oklahoma to be near grandsons. Walter still performs a few tax returns and helps in other areas when needed.
Amber Day, Senior Accountant
Amber Day is a Senior Accountant at the firm and has been with CBEW since 2013. She was born and raised in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She obtained her B.B.A Degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University in 2013, and is currently working on obtaining her CPA license. Amber’s main focus at our firm is tax preparation and payroll services. She has an knack for training not only our staff but also our clients, to help them understand accounting and taxes. Amber works in both our Cushing and Stillwater offices. When not working, Amber can be found hanging out with her family, traveling, going to the lake, or at the gym.
Hayden Hadlock, Senior Accountant
Hayden is an Oklahoma State graduate with a B.B.A. Degree in Finance and has been knocking out tax returns and audits since 2018 when took a job with CBEW as his first "real job" out of college. If you have a farming or ranching business, Hayden's your guy! He was raised near Fairfax, Oklahoma in the cattle industry and has an excellent understanding of the farm and ranch tax returns. Hayden is also a pro at business entity tax returns such as S-corps and partnerships, and is an important member of our audit team. In Hayden's spare time, he enjoys raising two adorable kiddos, Keaton and Ryleigh. He is also very competitive with whatever he is doing, especially sports, and he continues to stay in good health by lifting weights and playing golf and basketball. Hayden also loves music and going to concerts. You can find Hayden working in our Cushing and Pawnee office locations.
Stacy Garrett, Senior Accountant
Stacy Garrett works as a staff accountant in our Stillwater office location. She has been a member of our team for over 7 years. She was raised in Ada, Oklahoma and she and her family now live in Stillwater. She obtained her B.B.A. Degree in Finance from Northeastern State University, graduated summa cum laude along with being awarded as a Top Finance Student for 2003 and was a member of the business honor society. Stacy's primary duties include bookkeeping, payroll, financial preparation and tax preparation. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and reading a good book.
Laura (Vassar) Morgan, Senior Accountant
Laura Morgan has been an accountant for CBEW since February 2018 and is a mathematician by nature. She was raised in Cushing, Oklahoma where she and her family continue to live. She obtained her BSBA Degree in Economics & Quantitative Studies from Oklahoma State University is working towards attaining her CPA licensure. Laura works on personal, business and non-profit tax accounts out of our Cushing office and also spends a good part of the year traveling with the audit team where she specializes in auditing federal programs. When not at work, Laura can normally be found spending time with her husband and last one of three kids at home, curled up with her French Bulldog reading a good book or listening to music. And she’s always cheering for the Houston Astros!
Bailey Wensler, Staff Accountant
Bailey Wensler is a staff accountant of the firm and has been with CBEW for over 1 year. She was raised in Pawnee, Oklahoma, graduated from Perkins-Tryon High School, and then went off to South Carolina Upstate where she played division 1 basketball and earned her B.B.A. Degree in Accounting. Bailey goes on audits, prepares tax returns, bookkeeping, and payroll. She works out of our Stillwater office. When not at work, Bailey can be found hanging with her family, riding bikes, or at the local coffee shop.
Nita Hendricks, Internal & Staff Accountant
Nita brings over 30 years of small business accounting experience to the CBEW team. She is the mother of four successful adults, and “gramma” to six special and unique grandchildren, from infant through 16 years old. Coincidentally, this is the same range of her own children. Having raised teenagers and toddlers, simultaneously, Nita has a very natural capacity to quickly understand each of our small business client’s unique needs and nurture them, individually. She works with our clients to set up bookkeeping systems that they are both comfortable and confident using. Nita recently rediscovered “free time” for the first time in 36 years. She hasn’t quite got the hang of it yet, but (not surprisingly) she does enjoy working various types of puzzles. You might not expect that she is also a skilled two-stepper and says that is the only exercise she actually enjoys. Most days, you can find Nita with a cup of coffee in her hand and a smile on her face. She loves working at CBEW and seeing clients thrive with bookkeeping systems designed to make their jobs easier.
Beth Dutton, Front Desk Executive
Beth Dutton is a receptionist at CBEW and has been with the firm for almost 8 years. She was raised in Pampa, Texas. Beth is married to her husband Guy and has 2 children, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Prior to moving to Cushing, Beth spent 25 years in Illinois. Most of her family resides on their ranch outside of Cushing where they raise Longhorn along with many other animals looking for a “fur-ever” home. God has blessed her with the love for people. She likes to hear people’s stories and to volunteer any way she can. Her mom always said she could talk to a fence post! When not at work, she is hanging out with her grandkids, shopping to fill her shoe addiction, or reading a book surrounded by cats and dogs. She feels very blessed and thankful to be working at CBEW.
Katy Cormiea, Bookkeeper & Payroll Executive
Katy Cormiea is a bookkeeper and payroll administrator with CBEW. She has been with the firm for three and a half years. She was born into a military family and has lived in many states including New Hampshire which is her home state. She graduated from Plymouth Regional High school in 2013 and shortly after relocated to Cushing. Katy spends her free time creating art including paintings, drawings, and photography, she also loves reading.
Michelle Steele, Bookkeeping & Payroll Executive
Michelle Steele has served as a bookkeeper/payroll administrator at CBEW since June 2020. She was an owner of a small automotive business in western Oklahoma for more than 20 years – running the company’s day-to-day operations – before relocating to Perkins in January 2020 to be closer to family. In her spare time, she enjoys attending craft shows (her hobby is interior design), playing with her three Yorkies and spending time with her two grandchildren, Savannah and Sawyer. She is a seven year leader at Life Church where she serves with the LifeKids program.
Lisa Longbrake, Bookkeeping & Payroll Executive
Lisa Longbrake has a vast experience with payroll, accounts payable, management and financials. Prior to coming to CBEW in August, she worked in the oilfield industry as a bookkeeper for 20 years. In her time away from work Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband of 25 years and hanging out with her 3 children Emily, Ethan and Stephanie. She enjoys fishing, shopping, crafting and attending sporting events with her family.
Anna Wagar, Front Desk Executive
Anna works part-time at the front desk in our Stillwater office and has been with CBEW since January 2019. She is originally from Oklahoma, but grew up in Bentonville, Arkansas where her family still resides. She is currently studying Hospitality and Tourism Management at Oklahoma State University and plans to graduate in December 2021. She is a member of the Chi Omega Sorority where she was the Homecoming Design Director. Anna’s primary duties include answering the phone, assembling tax returns, reconciling bank statements, and preparing 1099’s. When not at work, Anna can be found traveling, designing and spending time with friends.
Mary Ellen Copeland, Tax Season Support
Mary Ellen Copeland is a seasonal employee and has been with CBEW for 11 years. She grew up in Oklahoma City and currently resides in Perkins, Oklahoma with her husband. She received her B.A. degree in education in 1974 and enjoyed a 17-year teaching career in elementary education, special education and adult education. After retiring, she decided to follow her motto of being a “lifelong learner” and seek part time employment outside of the teaching field. She joined CBEW in 2010 and works during tax season to greet clients, make appointments, help with 1099 preparations, assemble tax returns, and review completed returns with clients. Mary Ellen also trains new tax assemblers as needed. After tax season, she enjoys spending time with family members, participating in the activities of her six grandchildren, working in her flower beds, river time at her family’s Arkansas cabin, and sitting on the deck in the evenings watching the beautiful sunsets.
